Wakesports Unlimited is heating up summer by premiering the much anticipated film Box of Fun, along with the wakeskate movie Fun Boots. With twice the fun, you’re not going to miss this event. The premiere will be held at the Orange County location of Wakesports on Saturday, June 27th. Fun Boots will be shown at 6 pm, followed by Box of Fun. Wakesports will be having a sale all day leading up to the premieres. Come take advantage of deals on all of the new 2009 product, along with some insane prices on the small selection of 2008 goods.

Box of Fun was directed by Liquid Force team rider Collin Harrington. Collin has traveled the globe for the last three years with some of his closest friends documenting every step along the way. From progressive riding on the water to the crazy shenanigans not normally seen by the public, Box of Fun takes you into the life of some of the best wakeboarders in the world. Fun boots is the latest film from David Hansen and features wakeskaters such as Nick Taylor, Reed Hansen, Ben Horan, and many others.

Thanks to everyone who came out this last weekend! Our Memorial Day Community Festival was a great way to start off the summer. We are so excited for this summer that we can’t wait any longer, so we’re starting up our Freeride Fridays earlier this year! So come join the party each Friday 3pm until dusk!

We know everyone is missing their stylish pink bracelets, so with that- Freeride Friday will start next week! June 5th will be our first official, FREERIDE FRIDAY! For those who are new, our Freeride includes a wakeboard ride (on any of our brand new 2009 Liquid Force or Ronix gear!) and a BBQ for only 25 dollars! KIDS CAMPS?!

With high demand- our Youth Camps are back this year too!

This summer we are planning to do everything we offer here at the lagoon: wakeboarding, waterskiing, canoeing, kayaking, peddle boating, wave runners, stand up paddle boarding, aqua cycles, oceanography, beach games, a BBQ with awards and more! We are making it a point to go above and beyond for this year’s group of kids!

Each camp is customized and runs on the demands of the kids. Every activity is lead by well-trained and knowledgeable instructors providing the perfect opportunity for people of every level to optimize their experience.

Camps will be offered the following weeks in the summer of 2009:
June 29th – July 3rd
July 6th – July 10th
July 13th – July 17th
July 20th – July 24th
July 27th – July 31st

The cost for each camper is $500; however we offer a discount to siblings! Each additional sibling is $450, but its money well spent! If you have any questions or concerns, please come in and visit us. We would love to meet you and show you the wide array of activities we offer!

Wakesports Golf Tournament Review

The sun was shining, the grass was freshly cut, and the beverages were
flowing. The resurgence of the Wakesports Golf Charity Classic was a
huge success! With a quick warm up and an amazing hard putting
competition tee off was at 1pm and the party was started. No boats
were won, this year, but that didn’t stop the tunes from blasting and
the coolers emptyin’. The Wakesports Golf Charity Classic had over
100 golfers that all put on their best show this past Sunday. The
competitive nature was definitely in the air, I mean one guy was so
mad he tried to take out the other team’s ringer on the first tee box
with a line drive to the knee, and I must have seen at least 2 or 3
clubs flying through the air. But in the end, everyone came together
for food and freebies to end the day on a great note. This year the
grand prize was upped to a Vegas trip, which kept undivided attention
in the raffle. It was an amazing turn out. Thanks to all of our
golfers that came out in the sun just to have a good time. And
thanks to our sponsors, Alliance Wake Magazine, DBG Concepts,
California Watersports, CWB, Liquid Force, Ronix, JW Flooring and
Restoration, DBot5 Golf Clubs, Hipp Marine, and M2O Marine for
allowing this all to happen. So hit the range and we’ll see everyone

Wakesports and Ronix Demo Days This Week!

We would like to invite you to join us this Sunday May 10th and Monday May 11th in demoing all of the 2009 Ronix product line with professional riders Emily Copeland-Durham and Reed Hansen.

Sunday May 10th in Lake Elsinore!

On Sunday May 10th, Wakesports and Ronix will be taking over the channel at Lake Elsinore. The action will kick off at 10am. Bring the entire family out to try the entire 2009 Ronix line of boards and bindings. Ronix team riders Emily Copeland-Durham and Reed Hansen will be on hand to sign autographs and answer any questions you may have.

Monday May 11th in Carlsbad!

If Sunday doesn’t work for you, no need to worry because the action will carry over to Monday at the Carlsbad Lagoon. Come enjoy the beautiful weather and perfect water conditions that the lagoon is know for. The demo will begin around 10am. Again, all of the new gear will be available to demo. Reed and Emily will also be hanging out at all day.

WakeSports Charity Golf Classic

After a few year hiatus, Wakesports is putting the philanthropic hat back on in order to bring you the third Wakesports Charity Golf Classic. In this time of economic hardship, Wakesports continues to give back, this time raising money for Outreach for Humanity. Among a long list of contributions, Outreach for Humanity has helped with numerous community projects including donating to the Rady Children’s Hospital and the Nazareth boys charity in Tijuana, Mexico. The organization is focused on helping America’s youth and has adopted the slogan “Affecting Lives for the Better.”

The event will be held on Sunday, May 3rd at the Riverwalk Golf Club in San Diego, CA. Wakeboarders, industry reps, and watersports enthusiasts from all over Southern California are invited to take part in the festivities. Registration starts at 12 noon and from there participants will enjoy 18 holes of golf, a putting challenge, longest drive contest, and a closest to the pin challenge. Immediately following the golfing, there will be a dinner and awards ceremony in the beautiful Riverwalk banquet room. Prizes include and autographed wakeboard by the San Diego Chargers and the chance to win a FREE boat.

Headed up to the Del Mar show yesterday to check out the Rail Jam and chill out with Chad and Gary from DBG Concepts and the Wakesports crew. There was a pretty decent turnout, and the rail jam was awesome. Two-time WakeBoarding Magazine Rail Master Award winner Shane Bonifay, 2005 Pro Tour Rookie of the Year Kevin Henshaw, 2008 Best Trick of the Year winner Chad Sharpe and boardsports legends Collin Harrington and Shawn Watson were there shredding the rails. For the third year, the Fred Hall Fishing, Tackle and Boat Show in Del Mar will host the Wakesports Unlimited Invitational Rail Jam on March 25-29, 2009.
