Boat brands use shows to showcase their brand-new models as well as their latest enhancements, so they offer a great chance to stay up on all things new. “Things change so much from year to year,” Malibu Boats’ Amy Mauzy says. “It’s important to get out there just to find out what’s new and what can get you to the next level.” Boat shows also have some of the best buys of the season, because many companies offer exclusive incentives only during boat shows.

2. Grab Some Gear :

Boat brands aren’t the only companies showing off their new stuff. Many board and gear companies will tag along on these events to show off their new products as well. “This is the greatest place to compare the latest products from most manufacturers,” says Greg Nelson, Marketing Manager at Hyperlite. “It’s a great opportunity for new riders to gain some knowledge.” It’s also a great place to get a deal. Most brands offer special incentives to buy at the boat show. “Liquid Force will be teaming up with our local dealers to help however we can this season,” says Matt Gleason, Director of Marketing at Liquid Force. ” We’ve got some great promotions set for a lot of the shows to help promote the brand and our riders.”

3. Meet Your Favorite Pro:

Boat show season is one of the busiest times of the year for pro riders, most of whom make appearances at shows across the country. “To be honest, the pros are out there so much I lose track,” Nelson says. As a result, boat shows are a great opportunity to shake your favorite rider’s hand or grab his autograph.

4. Or Watch Him Ride:

Not only will you get the chance to meet your favorite riders, but you’ll be able to watch them ride as well. Many boat shows set up rail jams, so boat show-goers can watch some of the pros perform. “At the larger shows, rail jams have been going on, usually with the best of the best, like Rusty Malinoski, JD Webb, and Shaun Murray,” Nelson says.

5. Get Involved:

Boat shows are a great way to get more involved with your local wake scene. “Most local riders are active in their hometown scene, but the first step to sponsorship is usually through shop,” Nelson says. “Go to the boat show and ask how to help support your shop somehow, someway. Get involved!”

The purpose of the study is to gather information about the different types of injuries in the sport of wakeboarding, and further the research conducted on this topic. The study will also help find if there is any correlation between the injuries sustained by beginner versus advanced riders.
