It looks like cable wakeboarding will finally make its way to Southern California. On October 28, the Santee City Council approved the plan to build a cable wakeboarding park at the Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve, which is located just outside San Diego, California.

The long-debated plan calls for a cable park and restaurant to be built on the preserve’s southernmost lake. The Santee Lakes cable park will feature a six-tower cable system as well as a restaurant, snack bar and pro shop.

The Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve is managed by the Padre Dam Municipal Water District and provides camping, fishing and other recreation pursuits to Southern California residents.

No word yet on when the plan will be put into action.

Ergonomics, safety and ease of use were top priorities in development of TigeTouch, which is part Tige’s contemporary 2010 dash design for its RZ and Ve series boats. The new dash features a clean, simplified layout and ultra-low profile to maximize forward visibility. The three stylish Medallion digital/analog gauges work in tandem with the TigeTouch control screen that is conveniently located to the right of the main dash, easily accessible by the driver and in close proximity to the throttle handle. In addition to its fully functional finger-touch capabilities, TigeTouch also features a set of raised control buttons to the right of the display. This fingertip recognition feature allows the driver to easily adjust speed control, audio and other functions without taking his eyes off the water.

Renowned Tige watersports versatility has been given a significant boost for 2010 with the development of an advanced modular ballast system providing up to 2,000 pounds of factory ballast. The entire system has been designed for maximum flexibility and unlimited weight distribution configurations easily controllable through the TigeTouch display. The base factory ballast option includes under floor tanks with a 900-pound capacity. The Surf package adds two bags in the rear storage area. When empty, these bags are retractable to allow full use of the storage areas. The Pro package ballast option includes base and surf packages plus two independent bags in the bow.

Tige 2010 interiors feature several upgrades and refinements. All Tige RZ, Ve and Z1 models now feature snap-in removable carpet throughout and a fully integrated fiberglass floor system. Epic boats added wakeboarder Adam Fields to its team of professional riders, which also includes Jaret Brantley, Jimmy Wolf, Reed Watson, Raquel and Shawna Hoffman, and Jessica Oswald.

Fields own and operates his own wakeboard school, The Adams Fields Wakeboard School, on North Carolina’s Lake Gaston and on Lake Brantley in Longwood, Florida.
