Who says that wakeboarders don’t get down in the middle of winter? Even though this event isn’t in San Diego I felt the need to share with everyone since its pretty bad ass. If something like this were to take place in SD it would be epic!

Some of the top regional and pro wakeboarders in the country will be returning to North Texas, February 7th, to participate in the 4th Annual Boardshorts, Bulls and Bikini’s event at Gilley’s –Dallas! This unique event, presented by Malibu Boats and Monster Energy Drink, features a pool-gap rail jam contest in the parking lot of the infamous honky-tonk, followed by a bull- riding contest on Gilley’s legendary mechanical bull.

Already scheduled to ride the rails and the bull are Liquid Force Pro Team rider and returning event Champion – Shane “Danger” Bonifay, 2008 WWA Wake Park World Series Champion Tom Fooshee, CWB Pro Team rider – Gabe Lucas, Ronix ripper Adam Errington, Hyperlite Pro Kyle Alberts plus Pro Wakeskaters – Clint Tompkins, Branden Thomas and Bret Little. They will be joined by top regional riders including Joe Lemberg, Brian Sasser, Billy Garcia, Andrew Dyrhood, Ryan Anderson, Brady Webb and Hank Carter. Pro Tour announcer Dano “The Mano” Amir and his Texas side-kick, Justin Kiefer will be calling the action and local shredder Joey Bradley will be handling DJ duties.

Following the wakeboarding and bull-riding competitions, Waterski America will be hosting a very special event after-party, held in The Loft bar at Gilley’s. The pro’s will judge the Hot Bod Bikini Contest with help from the crowd followed by a live concert from Fort Worth’s own, Spoonfed Tribe.

In addition to Malibu Boats and local Malibu dealer Waterski America, the event is backed by Monster Energy Drink, Liquid Force Wakeboards and Spy Optic . Media partners include Alliance Wakeboard Magazine, Wakeboarding Magazine and local alternative radio station.

If you’re a fan of wakeskating, you know Liquid Force spent more time perfecting this design than pretty much any other product they have ever built. When it was first released, it quickly became the most talked about skate in the market. True skaters finally had what they’d been looking for in a skate. Created by Silas Thurman and Liquid Force’s design team, this deck incorporates several firsts. It’s the first dual level deck to utilize a compression molded top and a wood bottom. This was done to ensure durability, as well as the skate feel. Most importantly, this deck has serious spring in its pop! The design has been ridden hard by Silas, Aaron Reed, and several others and they have all come back stoked about this ride! Aaron likes the way the board pops to his feet when he’s doing 3 shuvs across the wake and Silas is stoked with the ability to simply snap ollies and technical tricks more explosively. If you’re ready for the next generation of wakeskates that are engineered to take your riding to the next level, the SST is it!
FEATURES:

Compression Molded SST Concave Top Deck – Shaped with plenty of kick and concave to lock your feet in an aggresssive ollie position as well as provide increased heel and toe response.

SST Split Level Tails – Provides more snap out of ollies than a traditional concave, as well as more spring off the wake when you’re slashing.

Aaron Reed Asymmetrical Wood Bottom Deck Shape – Wider and more squared off in the nose. The board tracks better, releases from the water quicker, and is more stable underfoot.

9-Ply Maple Base Deck – Stiff, responsive, and full of life.

Variable Edge – More forgiving and round at the center, sharper at the tail.

Aggressive 3-Stage Rocker – Serious snap!

Marine Grade Grip Tape – The true skateboard feel.
