This pass weekend, November 8th, I was able to get out on the bay for the first time since I’ve lived here for some early morning riding. Saturday morning at around 7:00am I meet Jared from the website for the first time and one of his buddies Evan and we headed out for a couple of hours of wakeboarding. It was incredible, just us and the fishing boats, no one was out there. We had glass pretty much the entire morning and by about 7:30 it was already 70 degrees outside and the water was still surprisingly warm. With not a cloud in the sky and absolutely zero wind the conditions were ideal for us and for about two hours we took turns continuously until we were gassed at the end. Got to test out my brand new hypertlite board that I just bought and felt great and the board had some nice pop to it. First time I’ve been out in two months so I had some pretty entertaining spills out there but at least I was catching some pretty decent air. Jared and Evan were shredding nicely and working on their 360′s which produced some major spills as well. First trip out on the bay couldn’t have been any better and definitely look forward to meeting more of you from the site so we can rip it up before the water gets too rigid this winter.

Well, I’m looking at getting a wake surfboard pretty soon. I figured I’d post up about some of the different models I’m looking at.

When I surf I usually ride my 7′ egg, and I think I’d like something kind of similar.

I found a lot of cool boards and they’re pretty reasonable priced at www.wakeside.com.

Here’s the boards I like best. Any comments??

Hyperlite Landlock 5′ 11″
The Hyperlite Landlock is geared for riders taking a slash for the first time, bigger riders, or just the toes on the nose mellower transitioned, tail heavy session. This fresh water creation features Hyperlite’s softest/thickest rail with a concave top deck for that forgiving, laid-back soul turn.

Ronix Caption 4′ 8″
Ronix Caption Wake Surfboard 4’8″ has a swallow tail design built for frontside airs off the lip, or bug cutbacks off the wake. The Ronix Caption is the perfect Wakesurf board for the intermediate to advanced rider that will need more speed with tons of control and maneuverability for bigger tricks. The Ronix Wakesurf Boards are NEW for 2008.

Hyperlite Broadcast 4′ 9″
The Hyperlite Broadcast boards are crafted with more of a traditional wakeboard rail for a deeper ride in the water. The Hyperlite Broadcast boards are preferred by wakeboarders that want to surf the way they wakeboard. They offer quicker reacting, harder edging with more of a centered weight distribution for a knifing style of bottom turn. Hyperlite’s Broadcast boards are available in two sizes with a fast rocker prepared for the endless summer.
