There may not be much posting action going on around here for the next week or so. We’re going to be busy with Thanksgiving and spending some time with our families - but check out the forums because some members who are going to be in SD for the holiday are going to be heading out with SBR Wakeboarding for a ride on thursday!

Starting this evening, Monday November 24th at 5:00pm, tune into FUEL TV and celebrate “The Best In Wake” as the best riders, photographers and video producers are recognized at the WakeBoarding Magazine’s 5th Annual Wake Awards presented by Rockstar Energy Drink. Something new showcased this year for 2008 was the unveiling of the King and Queen of Wake series, which recognizes the best competitive riders on the planet. Along with the wake awards don’t miss the “Move of the Year” awards in both wakeskating and wakeboarding, presented by Oakley. During the award show rumor has it that Danny Harf will be showing something he landed that’s never been done before and he managed to keep the whole thing under wraps until this exclusive event, completely freaking out this crowd of wakeboarders and peers.
LF’s Danny Hampson wins Alliance Wakeboard Award
Liquid Force, leader in wake apparel and hard goods, would like to congratulate Danny Hampson on being named Alliance Wakeboard Magazine’s Rider of the Year!
Danny has had a difficult few years with injuries, so to come back strong and be named the top rider in the sport is a huge accomplishment. This past year he’s had top video sections, elevated his contest riding, and really become an ambassador of the sport. It’s all a testament to his strong work ethic and abilities as a rider.
“Danny has elevated his status to an icon within the wakeskate world,” stated Tony Finn, Liquid Force President. “His spirit, natural ability, and dedication to wakeskating are the perfect compliment to what Liquid Force represents. Danny is the full package and we are super stoked to see him accomplish his goals!”
“It’s a real honor to be named Alliance’s Rider of the Year! To be in a class with some of the past winners is ridiculous!” said Danny. “Thanks for all of the love and support from everybody. I am just so happy I’m healthy and able to ride to my full potential again. I feel so lucky to be able to do what I do.”

This Saturday, November 22, T&C Wake Company based out of Fort Myers, Florida, is having its first annual River Jam. T&C Wake Company is a predominately online based store that sells everything that the wake industry has to offer. Their event this weekend is expected to have a massive turnout with all the big sponsors such as Hyperlite, Ronix, Byerly, Jetpilot, and many more. Also, pro riders such as Shane Bonifay, Danny Harf, Adam Errington, Ryan Doyle, Mark Weikel are just a few riders that will be there shredding all day long. T&C is going to break out all their new 09 products to demo for anyone who wants to check it out. This all day session is supposed to be one of the biggest off-season wakeboarding events of the year in the US and Fuel TV is going to be there so we will hopefully be able to check out the highlights soon.
MasterCraft announced that its president and CEO, John Dorton, has been elected and appointed to key leadership roles in the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA). These appointments include chairman of the Boat Manufacturer’s Division (BMD) and being voted on to the NMMA Executive Committee. “It is always an honor to be recognized by the industry and my peers in this way,” said Dorton. He went on to say, “But more importantly, I look forward to taking my years of advocacy and passion for this industry and working with the NMMA to help its members achieve financial success, especially as we move through and the eventual exit out of this economic downturn.” As chairman of the NMMA Boat Manufacturers Division, Dorton will help set the agenda for the industry steering committee. The BMD provides public policy advocacy for marine manufacturers at the government level, promotes boating among consumers, advocates improved customer satisfaction and serves to increase cooperation and unity throughout the industry.
