Stickers On The Way!

News! We just ordered a vinyl plotter, so we will be cutting stickers soon for WBSD!  First batches will be in black and white, we can work on others if there is any interest.  First run probably going for wide logos that you can have on your truck/tow vehicle (windshield width), and then some for boats.  If you have any ideas about stickers you might like, please contact us on the contact form (www.wakeboardsd.net/contact).  The stickers will be sold on our online store that is in testing right now, we will be accepting payment via paypal.  Get ready to show your WBSD support!

A Few New Partners

Check out the links on the left nav bar of the site, and you may notice a few new sponsors.  This area is currently reserved for site sponsors who also advertise with us, and other noteable Wakeboarding related blogs/sites that we share links with.  If you see a link over there, rest assured they provide quality content.

I wanted to point out the newest addition just added today: The Creaky Rowboat.  These guys run the best waterskiing related blog I have ever read.  Always including some witty remarks or appropriate sarcasm, its a good read if you end up being on the computer instead of out riding for the day.  Thanks guys!

Boating Laws Part 1

I thought I would take this opportunity to go over some important boating laws, since the “I didn’t know” excuse does not fly with the boat cops who are becoming increasingly strict.

This list is not all inclusive I have selected the law that will most likely affect standard wakeboard boats. I am by no means giving you legal advice. If there is any abiguity about the things I am listing below contact a legal professional for clarification. This information was taken directly from the California Boating website so it believed to be accurate, but not guaranteed to be so.

TRAILERING

It is against the law to tow a trailered vessel containing a passenger, except when engaged in launching or retrieving a vessel.

STOLEN VESSELS

If a numbered vessel is stolen, the owner or legal owner should notify the local law enforcement agency as soon as possible. The owner shall also notify the local law enforcement agency if the vessel reported stolen is recovered.

Big Things Ahead for WBSD

Thought I would take a minute to inform you of the upcoming news around WBSD.  First up is our partnership with Wakesports Unlimited and the Carlsbad Lagoon.  Evan and I met last week with the owners, and worked out some specifics about what is the beginning of an awesome relationship.  In addition to some web site design being provided to them by our company, Redline Designworks, WBSD will be sponsoring some upcoming events.  Look for us at upcoming Free Ride Friday’s throughout the summer, and some WBSD merch in the Wakesports store, as well as DBG Concepts products!

In addition, I have been working hard on getting the WBSD store up and running.  The goal is not only to subsidize the cost of running this site, but to use some of the income to be able to sponsor events, and get other merchandise and advertising materials made so we can grow the community!  I met with a lady tonight who does T shirt printing, so very soon we will be offering T Shirts and Stickers on our own store where you can pay via paypal.  Be assured, we aren’t making a dime off of anything generated here, everything gets dumped back in to the community.

We started this website with one reason in mind: meet like minded people who are interested in wakeboard, and provide them with a place to meet online and in person.  We have taken the first step forward to doing this, but we need your help to continue.  The forum is slowly growing, as well as site traffic, and it will only continue to do so if everyone helps spread the word!  Thanks for your support so far, and for it continuing!

Also, a Wakesports and Carlsbad Lagoon sponsor forum have been added, so if you have any questions, post up over there!

Thanks for being a part of WBSD!
