5/14 Evening Session
Headed out from work yesterday, went home, and loaded up the boat with Dani, Evan, and RJ, and headed out to the bay. The water was decent at first, although around 7 the wind picked up a bit and there was quite a bit of chop. We were riding over on the Crown Point/Sail Bay side, which is normally pretty decent, although when heading back in, the small bay by De Anza cove was complete glass – should probably stick around there next time.
This was my first ride with a new set of fins on my CWB board, and it they were so large it was like riding on a surfboard. I have recently become used to riding on a friends Blindside board, so switching back to my CWB pretty much led to the worst ride of my life. Time to start looking for some new options!
Also a first ride w/ my new Helium Flak vest. This thing is bad ass! Has a built in back support and is totally comfortable. I picked it up at www.sportscloseouts.com, for $59.99 and they shipped it in 2 days for $10. Hell of a deal if you ask me!
Anyway, back to the ride. RJ was ripping it up with some huge airs and a couple backroll attempts, and Dani threw a pretty huge backroll as well, although my camera had died by that point so I missed a good shot.
